AKRA - Swim until you can't see land
A daring quest unfolds as a man plunges into the vast sea, determined to swim 140 kilometers and resurface Kastelorizo, the easternmost island of Europe, onto the Greek map. The documentary "AKRA," a co-production with COSMOTE TV, premiered at the Thessaloniki Film Festival in 2019. This gripping journey not only illustrates the resilience needed to succeed amid setbacks but also highlights the art of bouncing back after encountering failure. Following its premiere, "AKRA" made waves across more than five international festivals and graced the screens of cinemas in Athens and Thessaloniki. Its remarkable impact was underscored by the film earning the Emerging Director award at the esteemed New York Greek Film Festival.
